About Pick a Level

Pick a Level is a set of short daily puzzle games for people who love video games. Every level gets a new puzzle each day, and each one takes a few minutes.

The daily levels

Five Tips gives you five tips about a mystery game, from vague to obvious. Name it with as few tips as you can.

Timeline gives you five games to put in order of release, oldest to newest, in four tries.

New puzzles unlock at midnight in your own time zone. Clear a level on its day to keep your streak going, and share your result as a row of squares that doesn't spoil the answer for friends. Missed a day? Every past puzzle stays playable in each level's archive.

How the puzzles are made

Every puzzle is written in our own words from public facts about games, and release years are checked against records of when each game first came out. We don't use screenshots, logos or character art. Game titles and trademarks belong to their owners. Pick a Level is fan-made and isn't affiliated with any game publisher.

Your progress stays with you

There are no accounts. Your scores, streaks and stats are saved in your own browser, on your own device, and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser's data for this site resets them.
